Zen and the art of the Ciel
26 June 2026

Glances down at her glock, "Oh, you mean Houdini..." she said as she leveled a chilly cerulean glare on the fuck-boy of the night. "She makes my problems disappear." - Ciel
In the Beginning...
Lets dig into some history, As mentioned before in the Poet and the Muse post. I had mastered the art of digital escapism. By the time I hit high school. I owe a lot of my writing skills today to my time immersing myself in games online. I remember I wanted to play Neverwinter Nights with my friend. But the game would not run on Vista at the time. So I had to find alternatives. It was at this point. I stumbled into the wild wonky world of Furcadia. It did not take me long to find the roleplay section of the game. While I myself was and am not what one would call a furry. It was still a place I could get lost in.
Furcadia was in a lot of ways its own user generated metaverse. One day I stumbled into a player made zone or "Dream" and was instantly immersed in a pixel art version of one of my favorite anime series growing up, .hack//
Everything was fully designed and implemented by the author of that dream. Manen Lyset. Who is today a well known author on the no sleep podcast and subreddit, Give this one a listen. Manen took it upon himself to teach me the finer art of online roleplaying and thus giving me the basis of my ability to write today.
Manen, if you read this later... Thank you. So much.
Over time the roleplay shifted gears from the trapped in the game online aspects of our characters and into the character's hypothetical "real life" And thus, we learn...
The Legacy of my Pen Name.
The name Ambrose actually echo's back to that original foundation. My first characters name: Alexander Ambrose D'Arkon. I was trying to find something French sounding. And settled on that. So today my pseudonym reflects that history. With a more personal touch. More on that in another post.
Along came a redhead.
Alright, lets get into the meat and taters of why you all are here. Ciel. As many know her today, got her start as the daughter of that original character.
Her personality was always full of rebellious fire. I mean when you consider her first word was not mom or dad...
It was Bitch.
You know she just had to come into the world with bad to the bone playing in the background. I have assumed the role of Ciel in all walks of her life. From infant to adult and even in some scenarios elderly.
Its safe to say that much like Ironman:
The absolute force of nature that is Ciel and I are one.
Today: A (Digital) work of art
Ciel's look and personality have overtime been tuned to the point of being fine art. (Body by Moo was a long running pun) So, how do we do this? Second Life[SL].
I'm the realest fake person you are going to meet today - Ciel
SL is one of the worlds longest running metaverses, as well as an absolute creators utopia. If you can imagine for a moment. The Oasis from Ready Player One. Second Life is basically the model for the Oasis.
I finally had a way to present Ciel as a full 3D high definition complete custom avatar. Other games give you decent character building and customization but SL is next level. The amount of detail you can do is ridiculous. Then you factor in the body mods.
When Moo and I were rebuilding her look. We went granular. Right down to the placement of the irises, the veins in her chest and the freckles that are present ALL over her body not just on her face. A reconstruction process that took well over a year from head to toe.
Cielism is realism indeed.
It came as absolutely no shock that people fell for the look of the avatar. But as with all things flesh and blood. Having looks and no personality is just horrible. So I breathed the life into her. A life that tends to leave its mark on all people who encounter her in world. She is very much her own person and personality at this point.
Main character energy
It should come as little to no shock that Ciel will be playing a major role as the main protagonist of my upcoming collaborative Cyberpunk Series: EdenWire. More information on that later.
In the meantime, If you want to keep up with Ciel's antics. Go check out her primfeed. Its like Instagram for SL avatars.

Sighs for a moment as she sets a file down on her desk "What exactly is moonbeam icecream... Mr. Boone was it?"
